Now that we have enjoyed all the glory of Star Wars we have been treated to till date, what is impressive is how little we actually know or have seen about the upcoming movie. Last week when the advance booking for the tickets opened it blew all the existing records to a galaxy far far away. The buzz that Star Wars The Force Awakens has managed to create is something we have not seen ever. Star Wars has a rich legacy so it was bound to create an buzz but it is surprising how much noise it is creating when we know so little about the movie from what has been revealed.
Minimalist marketing has been sort of trademark of J J Abrams, as he likes to create a sense of mystery around his films. Whereas the most recent trend has been to almost reveal the entire movie in the trailers in the lead up the movie. After searching for similar such supercuts, we stumbled upon The Amazing Spiderman‘s staggering 25 minutes long supercut created by a fan who goes by the name of SleepySkunk. It is mind boggling how aggressive Sony went with its marketing nearly showing quarter of the movie before release.
Now that we have enjoyed all the glory of Star Wars we have been treated to till date, what is impressive is how little we actually know or have seen about the upcoming movie.
While we can speculate and talk about the rumors of the upcoming Star Wars movie and while less that 4 minutes of footage of the movie exists in this galaxy, we really don’t know anything about the movie. And that is how we believe a movie should be marketed. The excitement for upcoming movie is incredible and the buzz is going to increase as we get close to the release of the movie on December 18th and we can’t wait to see what surprises J J Abrams and his team has for us!
