US Network HBO are planning to make a movie adaptation of the popular series Game of Thrones at the end of its television run, according to its creator and writer George R R Martin.

Emmy award-winning series Game of Thrones is currently filming for the Season 6 which should premiere in April 2016. The series won a record 12 Emmys this year, as HBO looks like making an attempt at the Oscars. Speaking at a HBO after party, author Martin spoke about the potential Game of Thrones Movie.

“There will be a movie but I will not be involved. I have too much to do. That is something HBO and the DB and David are dealing with. I have two more books to finish and I still have so much to do. The pressure is on. I am such a slow writer and the fans get upset that I don’t write faster.”

Martin is currently busy writing the sixth book The Winds of Winter of the fantasy saga, which has been rumored to release early next year. The final book ,A Dream of Spring will bring an end to the long-running book series. Martin who has often been criticised for the amount of time he takes to finish his book has cut down on his activities to focus on the writing as the series have caught up with him.

Despite indications of the film plan, Benioff has ruled out on any extension of the series to 10 seasons.

“No way in hell because we know what the end is and we’re rapidly approaching it.”

A production source said the film might probably go back in time.

“With the Game of Thrones universe, there is much rich material and no constraints on when that story will take place. They are looking at dipping back in time during certain periods of the series, which could be examined as a one off plot.”

Fans of the series would be delighted at the possibility of seeing their favorite saga and characters on the big screen which could see a return of the popular characters such as Robb Stark, Catelyn Stark, Oberyn Martell The Red Viper – and Ned Stark.
