Game of Thrones’ 6th season will arrive on HBO in April 2016. HBO released a teaser poster featuring Jon Snow for the latest upcoming season along with the news. Game of Thrones surely knows how to tease its fan base, after months of speculation after the finale’s major shocker no one has come close to decoding the most important question. This announcement also puts an end to the speculation that season 6 would premiere later than usual in 2016.

Is Jon Snow dead or not?

The finale of season 5 ended with Jon Snow (Kit Harington) getting stabbed several times by his traitorous Nightwatch brothers. Since the end of the last season Kit Harington has been spotted on the sets of the series’ latest season which has led to numerous theories about his death.

One of the most popular fan theory was the Red Priestess Melisandre (Carice Van Houten)reviving Jon Snow. However, Ian McShane recently revealed that his character would be responsible for reviving a character back.

Tonight, HBO gave its fans reason to celebrate after releasing a new teaser poster on Twitter and the fan base has gone bonkers over it.

Unless HBO and the makers of the series are playing some sort of cruel joke, this poster has to be a confirmation. Game of Thrones has an ensemble cast, but the poster features only the Lord Commander of the Night Watch, Jon Snow. We do not know if he is alive in this poster or could this blood splattered face actually be proof that we could probably see confirmation of his dead body? Is he a ghost?

We would not know and just as the speculations were dying down this tease is going to add fuel to what was a dying fire and fans worldwide will be debating this for a long time to come. We’ll find out for sure when the show returns in April! Let us know in the comments below what is your take on this poster!
